The file size for the Xbox One version of Resident Evil 3 Remake has been revealed via the Xbox Marketplace, giving us a rough idea of how much the PS4 edition will weigh in. Both versions of the game are likely to clock in at a very similar size, even if it’s not an accurate figure for PS4 users.
Resident Evil 3 Remake PS4 File Size
Resident Evil 3 Remake will weigh in at 43.01GB for Microsoft’s home console, although that’s actually a combination of two separate games: Resident Evil 3 (21.93GB) and Resident Evil Resistance (20.47GB), the accompanying multiplayer-centric spin-off.
While this doesn’t mean that the PS4 version will be the same size, it’s probably a close indication of how much space it’ll eat up on your hard drive. Resident Evil 2 Remake, for example, was a similar size on both formats at just over 21GB.
Resident Evil 3 Remake is scheduled for release on PS4, PC, and Xbox One on April 3, 2020. The game is a full reimagining of the 1999 survival horror classic, which initially launched on PSOne and arrived on PC, Dreamcast, and GameCube a few years later.
The game takes place 24 hours before and after Resident Evil 2, with ex-S.T.A.R.S. agent Jill Valentine attempting to escape a zombie-infested Raccoon City.
However, Valentine’s mission sees her battling against not only zombies and other T-Virus monstrosities, but also a relentless new Tyrant known as the Nemesis, which has been programmed by Umbrella to hunt down and terminate all surviving S.T.A.R.S. members.
With Resident Evil 3 getting a revamp, this leaves only Resident Evil CODE: Veronica as the last pre-RE4 mainline entry yet to receive the remake treatment. Hopefully that’ll change later down the line, though.
Capcom has revealed that Resident Evil 3 Remake will feature a number of expanded features over the original version, including the role of minor character Dario, who Jill meets at the beginning of the game.
