Resident Evil 5 is infecting PS4 this June in 1080p glory

Resident Evil 5 will be re-released in high-definition for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One from June 28, developer Capcom has announced.

The action-horror title will arrive on current-generation systems complete with all available DLC, such as the Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape missions. In addition, it’ll also feature The Mercenaries United, which combines The Mercenaries and The Mercenaries Union.

Resident Evil 5 will boast an improved frame rate and resolution for its PS4 debut, resulting in a much smoother and prettier gameplay experience than what we had with the original 2009 release.

If that wasn’t enough, Capcom is throwing in the previously PC-exclusive No Mercy mode for hardcore Resi players.

Resident Evil 5 is the latest re-release for the franchise in 2016, following on from Resident Evil Zero HD Remaster back in January and March’s Resident Evil 6. Resident Evil 4 will follow in autumn.

Capcom is also rumored to be working on the next full-fledged chapter in the long-running horror series, following confirmation that it’s got a new title in the pipeline due by April 2017

Not only that, but a recent reports has claimed that Resident Evil 7 is indeed in development and will be announced at E3 next month.

Resident Evil celebrated its 20th anniversary earlier this year, having first launched on the PlayStation on March 22, 1996.
