Capcom has debuted the first full-length trailer for CG film Resident Evil: Death Island (aka Biohazard: Death Island in its native Japan), and fans’ prayers have finally been answered: Leon and Jill are finally sharing the screen together!
Not only that, but we’re getting an all-S.T.A.R.S (ha ha!) cast with Resident Evil: Death Island, as the film sees not only Jill and Leon returning, but also Claire, Chris, and Rebecca. In other words, it’s the main cast of Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2 reunited. Hopefully Barry will appear, but that’s me being optimistic.

Capcom has confirmed that the film will bet set in between the events of Resident Evil 6 and Resident Evil 7, placing it in 2015. Here’s the official synopsis:
D.S.O. agent Leon S. Kennedy is on a mission to rescue Dr. Antonio Taylor from kidnappers, when a mysterious woman thwarts his pursuit. Meanwhile, B.S.A.A. agent Chris Redfield is investigating a zombie outbreak in San Francisco, where the cause of the infection cannot be identified. The only thing the victims have in common is that they all visited Alcatraz Island recently. Following that clue, Chris and his team head to the island, where a new horror awaits them.
Resident Evil Death Island is due out in Japan on July 7, 2023, and will be distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment worldwide. A western release date has yet to be announced.
