Resident Evil: Retribution star Milla Jovovich has gone on another Twitter rampage this past weekend, confirming the action-horror sequel will feature appearances from some familiar faces long thought deceased.
Specifically, Jovovich, who plays zombie slayer Alice in the films, confirmed that Oded Fehr (Carlos Oliveira) and Michelle Rodriguez (Rain Ocampo) will be returning, despite the fact they kicked the bucket in Resident Evil: Extinction and Resident Evil, respectively.
Also on the cards is Sienna Guillory, who plays Jill Valentine, and Colin Salmon, who played the Umbrella agent One in the original film. The latter also ended up brown bread, having met a grisly end after falling foul to the infamous laser trap.
Quite how Fehr, Rodriguez and Salmon’s characters will be included in the film remains unknown, though we assume it’ll be in flashback form. Then again, there’s always the possibility of clones — this IS Resident Evil, after all.
For those who haven’t been following Jovovich’s relentless Twitter teases lately, she also recently confirmed that Retribution will introduce a number of popular characters from the videogames, including Ada Wong, Leon S. Kennedy and Barry Burton.
Apparently, Chris Redfield (Wentworth Miller) Claire Redfield (Ali Larter) and K-Mart (Spencer Locke) won’t be in the film as they’ve been kidnapped by the Umbrella Corporation. Shawn Roberts, who plays lead antagonist Albert Wesker, will also be showing up in a cameo role.
Resident Evil: Retribution is due out in cinemas in September 2012.
