Resident Evil: Revelations 2 microtransactions detailed

Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil: Revelations 2 indeed has microtransactions, but they’re only applicable to the Raid Mode.

Apparently, gamers can use cash to resurrect their character after death during the wave-based mini-game.

The main campaign of the upcoming survival horror sequel remains unaffected by microtransations, the publisher clarified in a statement to Kotaku.

“Blue life crystals can be earned through playing daily missions and red life crystals can be bought,” said Capcom.

“The two crystals act the same, but there’s an option to buy if players run out of blue (earned) crystals or don’t want to spend the time earning them. If players have both blue and red crystals, the game will prioritise the blue crystals over the red ones.”

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 begins rolling out for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 in late February. We recently went hands-on with Barry Burton’s campaign and the Raid mode, so stay tuned for our write-up later today.
