Resident Evil Village Has Shipped Over 3 Million Copies Worldwide

Resident Evil Village, the latest entry in Capcom‘s pant-wetting survival horror franchise, has shipped three million units worldwide across PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.

The game was released last Friday and arrives as the Resident Evil franchise celebrates its 25th anniversary, with the series having debuted on PlayStation back in March 1996 and has shipped 100 million units worldwide.

Resident Evil Village takes place a few years after the events of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and reunites players with Ethan Winters, who finds his world shattered after his wife Mia is killed by Chris Redfield the couple’s daughter, Rose, is kidnapped.

Winters find himself trapped in an isolated village inhabited by savage creatures from medieval folklore, and must explore a variety of locations while defending himself from foes and solving a variety of fiendish puzzles in an effort to rescue his daughter.
