Resistance dev would ‘support’ PS4 remaster, no plans for new Resistance game

The developer behind the Resistance franchise has said that while it supports the idea of remastering the PlayStation 3-era shooting franchise, it won’t be the one to actually make it happen.

Writing on Twitter in response to fans asking about the possibility of bringing the Chimera-blasting series to PS4, the company responded, "We don’t do remasters. We support whoever would port them."

In addition, the company also reiterated that it has no plans to develop anymore Resistance titles going forward.

Resistance: Fall of Man was a launch title for the PS3 back in 2006, and was followed by two sequels: Resistance 2 (2008) and Resistance 3 (2011). The series also received two portable offerings in the shape of Resistance: Retribution for PSP in 2009 and Resistance: Burning Skies for PS Vita in 2012.

Insomniac Games has since moved on to multiformat development, with Resistance’s online servers shutting down in April last year.
