Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was the second game in Respawn’s action-adventure series starring Cal Kestis, and now it sounds like the next game in the franchise is meant to round things out in a nice trilogy.
EA’s head of its EA Entertainment division Laura Miele confirmed that it’s next game will be “the final chapter” of the Star Wars Jedi series in a presentation given to investors on Tuesday.
Miele also pointed out that EA’s Star Wars games are some of the most successful Star Wars games ever, and that the Star Wars Jedi series itself has had more than 40 million players jump into Cal’s story.
“We have delivered some of the highest quality and best-selling Star Wars games of all-time, with over $5 billion in net bookings. This impressive track record includes of course the Star Wars Jedi games, where over 40 million Star Wars fans have connected with Cal Kestis and his arc of becoming a powerful Jedi. Respawn is working hard to bring the final chapter of this thrilling story to players.”
It’ll be interesting to see what this final chapter looks like. Between the first and second game, Respawn expanded the experience by including larger worlds to explore, and a deeper well of side-quests and characters to get acquainted with.
Hopefully we’ll be able to see something about this ‘final chapter’ soon, though Miele did not offer any kind of release window in her presentation.
