Devolver Digital has announced that it will bring ultra violent, turn-based action platformer Ronin to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita before the end of the year.

Essentially, Ronin plays like a cross between the excellent Mark of the Ninja and the Quentin Tarantino movie Kill Bill, the twist being that everything is played out with tense, turn-based gameplay.

Casting players as a motorbike helmet-wearing heroine who is out for vengeance, Ronin follows her journey as she seeks to assassinate five powerful individuals belonging to an evil corporation.

In total, Ronin boasts 15 missions that require the player to sneak around various buildings and structures without being spotted, all the while tracking your target en route to a stylish kill.

Ironically, where the game really impresses is actually when all hell does break loose. Here, each and every movement can be painstakingly plotted, allowing players to leverage a wide range of gadgets and skills such as grappling hook-powered leaps, holographic decoys, hanging foes with razorwire or just getting stuck in up close and personal with a deadly katana blade.

In short, Ronin looks like it’s going to be provide a great deal of entertainment for fans of stealth and tactical action when it releases sometime later this year.
