Prominent leaker Tom Henderson has revealed that Call of Duty 2021, which is heavily rumored to be titled Call of Duty WW2 Vanguard, will be heavily held back by technology limitations of previous generation consoles.
While Activision hasn’t announced the game’s title yet, they are reportedly looking to launch the game for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, which will apparently be the same case for Infinity Ward’s new Call of Duty game, too.
[Call of Duty] WW2 Vanguard is going to be held back so bad by previous generation consoles. And from my understanding they are planning previous gen for both Vanguard and IW’s next title.
Henderson added that he thinks the new Call of Duty game should be exclusive to current-generation consoles.
Call of Duty WW2 Vanguard – or whatever it may end up actually being called – will launch later this year, presumably around October or November. Expect a full reveal to happen in the next few months or so.
