Rumor: Destiny 2 concept art surfaces, could humanity be on its last legs?

The first purported Destiny 2 concept art has surfaced online via Aziz Dosmetov, an artist who has previously worked with Bungie’s shared-world shooter with Destiny: The Taken King.

Seen below, the artwork gives of a distinctly war-torn vibe, and it’s possible to make out images such as The Traveller amidst a raging inferno, as it hangs over what is presumably The First City, which you may recall is viewable from The Tower in Destiny.

Elsewhere, several figures are also viewable in the art, which may represent new subclasses for the Titan, Warlock, and Hunter. Last but not least is the massive number two that is clearly depicted in the final image.

Bungie has not yet commented on the authenticity of these images, so take them with a pinch of salt until we hear otherwise. A Destiny 2 release date has yet to be announced, although we know the game is currently in development and is pencilled in for a 2017 launch.
