Rumors of an early November launch for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 have been given further clout today, after a listing for the game appeared on retail giant Amazon’s official website.
The site lists the military shooter for release on November 8, 2011 on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 platforms, echoing info that appeared on a recent Australian POS poster.
Activision finally lifted the curtains on Modern Warfare 3 last week via a series of small teaser trailers following months of speculation. Kotaku got a massive, spoiler-heavy scoop on the sequel last Friday, as detailed in our report here.
Still, it won’t be in for an easy ride this holiday season, with Electronic Arts gunning for CoD’s FPS crown with its sumptuous-looking blaster, Battlefield 3.
Expect more info on Modern Warfare 3 to drop in the weeks leading up to E3 early next month.
