According to a post on NeoGAF, a Sony PR specialist may have spilled the beans on a new Parappa the Rapper title.
The poster, Kodiak, claims that he was at a bar with a Sony PR employee who told him that the title is currently in development. Allegedly, the title is being co-developed by Queasy Games (Sound Shapes) and Media Molecule (LittleBigPlanet, Tearaway).
"One of the guys that was with us is Sony PR, he got pretty [expletive]-tanked and he spilled the beans that a new Parappa the Rappa is being worked on with really slick HD illustrations and really cool animation that totally captures the spirit of the original," writes Kodiac. "Apparently Queasy Games and the Media Molecule are teaming up for this, and it uses some of the tech from Tearaway."
Parappa the Rapper, an original PlayStation title, is one of the first music games ever developed. It was later ported to the PSP and is available as a PSone classic download. The game even got a sequel on PS2 and a spin-off called Um Jammer Lammy.
What do you think of Kodiak’s claims? Hoping for a Parappa successor?
