Another fresh batch of Resident Evil 8 details have been revealed via a playtest for the upcoming survival horror title, which includes details on a new female character and sword-wielding enemies. None of this has been confirmed by Capcom, so keep that in mind.
Resident Evil 8 Details Revealed
The details via Biohazard Cast, which claims that the playtest was made available prior to the release of the Resident Evil 3 remake.
The playtest itself took place in a dark cave that was described as being similar to those seen in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and sees them controlling a female character holding a kerosene lantern. She had no weapons, and simply had to escape the cave while being harassed by a new enemy type featuring goat horns and wielded a sword.
The report goes on to say:
While hiding in the caves our source says they came across a file that called these new creatures “Strigoi”, which interestingly enough have a base in Romanian folklore, which is fitting to the aesthetic we’ve seen thus far with Resident Evil Village.
Resident Evil Village is scheduled for release in 2021 for the PS5, PC and Xbox Series X. The game will reportedly be the longest RE Engine title to date.
