Capcom is likely targeting a Resident Evil Village release date for Q2 2021, according to horror video game leaker Dusk Golem (aka AestheticGamer) on Twitter. However, he’s quick to note that a concrete date has yet to be pinned down.
Resident Evil Village Release Date Rumor
The Twitter user also revealed that Resident Evil Village is supposedly going to be the longest RE Engine game in the series, although that doesn’t mean it will be a massive game in the larger scheme of things. Still, we can’t expect it to surpass RE7’s length.
Don’t expect RE8 to be a very long game, but I have heard it’ll be the longest RE Engine game. Specifically I heard it’d be about 2-3 hours longer than RE7, but the specifics are highly subject to so many variables of play style, just simpler to say the longest RE Engine game.
Even if RE8 was released in Q1, it would’ve been in development for 4 years. That said, it’s looking more it’ll be a Q2 release right now, but let me say this right now, they haven’t 100% pinned a date down yet.
Resident Evil Village/Resident Evil 8 is currently in development for PS5, PC and Xbox Series X. The game is reportedly going to conclude the storyline established in Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, and sees Ethan Winters and Chris Redfield returning as main characters.
