Rumor – Uncharted Franchise Is Being Rebooted, Naughty Dog ‘Expected To Initially Assist’ New Team

Sony is rebooting the Uncharted franchise at an “unknown developer,” according to report on The Leak.co, which has a decent track record with various games-related gossip.

While Naughty Dog is expected to assist the new team initially, the Sony-owned developer is not expected to be involved in the new Uncharted project beyond that. A separate article on Insider-Gaming states that it was unable to corroborated the report, but it has heard rumblings of something related to Uncharted in the past.

Back in April, it was hinted by a Naughty Dog recruiter that Uncharted would be making a comeback, stating it’s “special being abel to be building future teams not only for new titles but for the legacy of Uncharted.”

The Uncharted franchise has been on ice since 2017’s Uncharted: The Lost Legacy on PS4, although both that game and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End were included in the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection on PS5 and PC earlier this year.

Actor Nolan North, who portrayed hero Nathan Drake in the games, has never ruled out making a return to his most iconic role.
