Activision hasn’t announced its plans for Call of Duty 2026 yet, but according to a report on CharlieIntel, it will be none other than Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.
Responding to an X post by TDAWG, a Call of Duty content creator, that Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is his prediction for this year’s game and will launch on September 22, CharlieIntel simply stated, “it’ll be October” in regards to the game’s launch. This would fit in with previous Call of Duty games that have launched around the October – November window, although with Grand Theft Auto VI coming out on November 19, it makes sense that Activision would want to avoid clashing with the Rockstar Games juggernaut.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was released for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One in November 2023, but was met with heavy criticism from critics and players alike, with many feeling it was a glorified expansion to the previous game. If Modern Warfare 4 is this year’s Call of Duty game, then Activision has a lot of expectations on its shoulders to deliver over MW3’s disappointment.
The original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare games were released during the PS3 era, and saw three titles released: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009), and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (2011).
