According to the LinkedIn profile of an ex-Sony Santa Monica Studio has revealed that the developer is working on a new franchise within the God of War universe.
The writer worked at Sony Santa Monica Studio from August 2020 — September 2025, during which time they worked on the as-yet unannounced project. Here’s the full blurb:

While Sony hasn’t announced anything yet, the report does match with comments from Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, who claimed that the company planned to “support several [God of War] sequels and spinoffs, like its own smaller versions of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
There’s a lot happening in the God of War series right now. For starters, Sony Santa Monica Studio is remaking the original God of War Trilogy for the PS5, and Amazon is gearing up for production on its live-action God of War series. Christopher Judge, the voice actor in God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarok, has teased that he’s working on a new project that will be announced this summer.
Sony celebrated the 20th anniversary of God of War last with some free content for God of War Ragnarok. At the time, a lot of fans were expecting a remastered trilogy of the original games, but it’s clear that Sony had bigger plans now that we know they’re fully remaking those titles.
