Rumour — Rayman Remake Is In the Works At Ubisoft With Ex-Prince Of Persia Devs

Ubisoft is working on a Rayman Remake under the codename Project Steambot, with Michael Ancel acting as a consultant on the game, according to a new report on Insider Gaming.

Many of the developers working on the project have migrated from the disbanded Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown team, while others have joined up on Beyond Good & Evil 2 and the new Ghost Recon game. The Rayman Remake is being handled primarily by a team at Ubisoft Milan.

In regards to Ancel, the Insider Gaming report states that concerns have been raised among the team regarding his involvement, with the Rayman creator having found himself accused of fostering a toxic work environment, which was reported by a French news outlet in 2020.

In case you missed, it was reported only yesterday that Ubisoft had disbanded the Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown development team after the project failed to meet its sales targets, with a proposed sequel also shot down by the publisher.
