Capcom’s long-rumoured Resident Evil CODE: Veronica Remake will be announced later this year, according to series insider Dusk Golem. Furthermore, the tipster shot down chatter about a Resident Evil 5 Remake, stating it is not in development at this stage.
The last few days has seen a lot of rumours about a possible RE5 Remake, which comes off the back of the voice actress for Sheva Alomar, Karen Dyer (aka Eva La Dare), writing on X that she has some exciting news to share regarding the Resident Evil series. This has resulted in people jumping the gun and assuming it’s a Resident Evil 5 Remake, something which Golem has denied is in the works on more than one occasion.
In reality, it’s more than likely we’re looking at a Resident Evil 5 remaster for current systems, seeing as how the game was rated by the ESRB last year. That, or it’s something entirely different. Instead, Golem said that CODE: Veronica is the next remake, with a reveal due in 2026:
No, there is NOT a Resident Evil 5 Remake that’s going to be announced this year. Instead, later this year a RE Remake that starts with “(C)” & ends “(ode Veronica)” is going to be announced, I promise you.
Her thing is something else not a remake of RE5.
Golem has previously stated that Resident Evil CODE: Veronica and Resident Evil Zero are the next remakes in the pipeline, and are due to launch in 2027 and 2028, respectively.
