Capcom News PS5 Resident Evil Resident Evil CODE: Veronica Resident Evil Zero Remake

Rumour – Resident Evil CODE: Veronica & Resident Evil Zero Remakes Set For 2027/2028

Capcom’s previously rumoured remakes of Resident Evil CODE: Veronica and Resident Evil Zero are targeting a 2027/2028 release, according to series insider Dusk Golem on X.

The next remakes are Resident Evil: Code Veronica and Resident Evil zero. They should be releasing in 2027/2028, though I’m unclear this second which is coming out first & which is second. But that’s what I’d say to expect.

Golem was the original source who leaked development of both remakes, and his report was corroborated by both IGN and VGC’s Andy Robinson. Capcom hasn’t officially announced anything about remaking CODE: Veronica or Zero at this point, but it did previously confirm that more remakes are on the way.

Back in June this year, Golem again reiterated that Capcom is remaking Resident Evil CODE: Veronica and Resident Evil Zero, and suggested that a another remake of the original game (Resident Evil was remade for GameCube back in 2002) will happen eventually, but it’s not on the cards right now.

Resident Evil Zero is a prequel that follows S.T.A.R.S. Bravo Team member, Rebecca Chambers, and escaped prisoner Billy Coen as the become caught up in the initial T-Virus outbreak in the Arklay Mountains 24 hours before the events of RE1. Resident Evil CODE: Veronica meanwhile is set three months after RE2, and follows Claire Redfield, as she is captured by Umbrella and taken to a remote island that suffers a viral outbreak.
