Capcom News PS5 Resident Evil CODE Veronica remake Resident Evil Zero Resident Evil Zero Remake

Rumour – Resident Evil Zero Remake Is Primarily Being Handled By RE4 Separate Ways’ K2 & M-Two

Leaker Dusk Golem has shared a few more snippets of info about the rumoured Resident Evil Zero Remake that he spilled the beans on over the weekend, claiming that K2 and M-Two are primarily behind the project.

For those scratching their heads, both studios were previously responsible for the Separate Ways DLC for Resident Evil 4 Remake, and also acted as supported for the main game. M-Two also developed the Resident Evil 3 Remake, so there’s plenty of experience with the franchise behind Zero’s overhaul.

From what I’ve heard, Zero is primarily being lead by K2 & M-Two (who most recently did Separate Ways DLC for RE:4 & were a support studio on RE:4), Code Veronica is Capcom Dev 1 with a lot of the same people who worked on RE:2 & RE:4 though.

Resident Evil Zero Remake is supposedly in the works alongside a remake of Resident Evil CODE: Veronica, according to Golem. The leaker also claimed that Resident Evil 9 has been delayed to late 2025/early 2026, so right now we’re not actually sure what the next release will be.

Originally released for the Nintendo GameCube in 2002, Resident Evil Zero takes place 24 hours before the original game and focuses on S.T.A.R.S. Bravo Team medic, Rebecca Chambers, as she investigates the origins of the Umbrella corporation alongside escaped convict, Billy Coen. Players are able to swap between Chambers and Coen at the press of a button, and the series’ item boxes have been removed entirely, placing a greater emphasis on item management.
