Rumour – Splinter Cell Remake Release Set For Q2 – Q4 2027, But Is In A ‘Fragile State Right Now’

Details on the upcoming Splinter Cell Remake have surfaced from Ubisoft data miner RogueTx on X, claiming the project is aiming for a release in Q2 — Q4 2027, but noted the project is a “fragile state right now.”

According to the data miner, the development team are looking into expanding the game’s non-lethal choices during enemy encounters, while noting the game is a full linear affair. Meanwhile, Splinter Cell Remake will employ dynamic light shooting with a light/dark meter implemented, and is powered by the Snow Drop Engine, which is used in the likes of The Division and Avatar.

The leak also mentions stick cameras and gas grenades being featured in the Splinter Cell Remake, as well as destructible environments and manual alarms. Finally, the data mine adds that Ubisoft is implementing pipe slides and zip lines to flesh out the game’s mechanics. Naturally, this is all unconfirmed, so take this info with a grain of salt just to be safe.

The Splinter Cell Remake has been a long time coming at this point. Back in October last year, it was reported that the project was hiring for a new Game Director, having previously lost David Grivel, who was the original director on the project, back in October 2022. He was then replaced by someone else who was never named, who then left the role — hence why Ubisoft was hiring again.

Fast-forward to February 2026, and it was revealed that developer Ubisoft Toronto had laid off some 40 staff members, but the Splinter Cell Remake project remained very much alive.
