According to a report on Insider-Gaming, Ubisoft is developing a turn-based tactics game that takes place within the same universe as Rainbow Six.
Sources claim that the new title is one — two years off right now, but is targeting a release on PS5, PC, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and (possibly) Nintendo Switch 2. The report adds that camera employs a top-down view along the lines of Diablo IV or XCOM, and sees players assuming control of Rainbow Six Siege operators.
A source stated, “just watch some XCOM gameplay if you want to get an idea, I’d say it’s an updated version of that with cinematic cutscenes and so on.” The gameplay loop is apparently going to be similar to Rainbow Six Siege, with operators boasting their own skills that players can choose from, before assaulting buildings to reduce hostages and battle enemies.

Finally, sources have stated that the new Rainbow Six title is aiming for around 25-30 hours of playtime depending on the player’s skill, but this could change if various elements such as cinematic and content are cut.
Rainbow Six Siege was originally released in December 2015 and has seen robust post-launch support from its developer ever since, with new seasons adding additional content such as operators, maps, and quality-of-life improvements.
