Saints Row: Gat out of Hell announced for January 2015 release

Just when you thought Volition’s Saints Row couldn’t get any more manic, a new standalone expansion pack to complement the series’ fourth iteration has been announced which sees the Saints’ hero Johnny Gat thrust into Hell to battle Satan himself.

Yup, you read that right. Gat and Kinzie are sucked into hell through a Ouija board and must do battle with an array of historical figures before the ultimate battle with Hell’s master. Gat and Kinzie won’t be alone in their endeavours, though, with a plethora of weapons available to aid their cause; an Arm Chairmageddon (recliner with mounted guns), the Energy Caster, a Locust Gun (you can guess what that does), just to name a few.

The game will roughly be half the size of Saints Row’s IV Steelport and won’t require a copy of the game to play, and has two-player online co-op.

Gat out of Hell will see a retail release ($19.95), and is coming out on PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on January 27 2015 – the same day a remastered version of Saints Row IV will be hitting PS4 & Xbox One. You won’t be able to pick up Gat out of Hell on its own in retail on PS4/Xbox One, mind, as a bundle with the newly-announced Saints Row IV: Re-Elected is the only way you’ll get a hard copy of it.
