Ignition has confirmed that a six-game-strong edition of SNK Playmore’s classic Samurai Shodown series will be roundhouse-kicking its way onto PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable this winter.
That’s a grand total of 48 playable fighters, from Cham Cham, a catgirl armed with a boomerang, to Andrew, a stand-up pugilist apparently based on former US President Andrew Jackson. Whatever they were smoking at SNK back in the day, we want some.
Released in 1993, the original Samurai Shodown was hailed as one of a few titles to deviate successfully from Capcom’s much-aped Street Fighter II formula. But will this compilation reach the dizzy heights of SNK’s Metal Slug Anthology?
