Archetype Entertainment has debuted a new trailer for its upcoming sci-fi RPG Exodus during The Game Awards as previously confirmed, offering an in-depth look at the ambitious project, which features a number of former BioWare developers working on it. The game has been confirmed for an early 2027 release window.

Exodus is set in the Omega Centauri cluster during the far future, and is the debut title from Archetype following its formation in 2019. Originally announced at The Game Awards 2025, Exodus is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and features Matthew McConaughey in the role of C.C. Orlev, a casting that has gained the project considerable attention, and puts emphasis on time dilation as a result of ultra relativistic travel and its consequences.

The timeline spans tens of thousands of years and begins with the environmental collapse of Earth around the year 2200 CE, resulting in fleets of arkships attempting to locate new worlds, some of which reach the cluster by 18,000 CE. Exodus follows Travelers, who are a faction looking to unearth relics known as Remnants, and include not only human groups, but alien lifeforms too, each with an agenda of their own.
Exodus is slated to launch in early 2027 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
