SEGA appoints Yakuza creator as new CCO

SEGA has undergone an executive shakeup ahead of the imminent retirement of COO Okitane Usui, with the firm appointing Toshihiro Nagoshi as the company’s new chief creative officer (CCO).

Nagoshi-san is perhaps best known to gamers as the creator of the Yakuza franchise, and recently released the futuristic shooter Binary Domain for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Elsewhere, former SEGA directors Shigeru Yamashita and Yuki Sugino have now ascended to company senior directors. The pair will, however, maintain their previous capacity as general managers of Sega Japan and research & development and production, respectively.
