SEGA Genesis Classics, the collection of classic SEGA Genesis titles will be delisted from the PlayStation Store on December 6, 2024.
SEGA announced the news earlier on Wednesday with a message first to the game’s Steam page, (spotted by Wario64) and then a post on the company’s website confirmed that it’s not just PC players losing the ability to purchase SEGA Genesis Classics, it’ll be players on all platforms, PlayStation included.
Thankfully though if you’ve already purchased the game, you’ll still be able to download and play the over 50 classic titles that were made available for modern consoles.
SEGA doesn’t give any explanation as to why the game is being delisted, which makes its removal all the more disappointing. The older any of these games get, the more difficult they’ll be to track down and play.
Bundles like SEGA Genesis Classics are a great way for older titles to be preserved, and its unfortunate that it’ll no longer be a part of that effort.
