Select PS5 Owners Reporting Database Corruption Issues With Sony’s New Console

The PS5 has only just come out in the US and Japan, but already we’ve a small number of users reporting issues with Sony’s new telly box, specifically related to the console’s database being corrupted.

PS5 Database Corruption Issues Are Being Flagged Up Online

One of the main issues that have cropped us the Rebuild Database error, which returns the message: “This database is corrupted, it will now rebuild.” Some folks have reported this issue when putting the PS5 in Rest Mode while playing Spider-Man Remastered or when executing Data Transfers from the PS4.

Games journalist Jeff Gerstmann is one of the users who reported the Spider-Man Remastered issue, and we’ve included his tweet below. Insomniac Games’ James Stevensson replied to Gerstmann’s post and said they’re looking into the problem.

PS5 is due for release in the UK and Europe on November 19, so hopefully these issues may be ironed out by then.
