Konatsu Kato, the actress who portrays Hinako Shimizu in Silent Hill f, has commented on her involvement in the upcoming psychological horror title, and it’s clear it was a pretty demanding role in some respects.
In addition to voicing the protagonist of Silent Hill f, Kato-san also provides the likeness for Hinako, so the role is obviously something she’s very attached to. Here’s what she had to say in a message posted on the Silent Hill f X account:
I’ve been living as Hinako in the world of Silent Hill for a long time now. On some days, I almost felt my own sanity slipping, but it was worth it to be able to contribute to this game.

Silent Hill f doesn’t actually take place in the picturesque, fog-bound town as you would expect of a new entry in the series, but rather, is set during the 1960s in the fictional Japanese setting of Ebisugaoka. Much like Silent Hill, this town has become shrouded by a mysterious fog, with Hinako finding herself battling against grotesque creatures and solving brain-teasing puzzles as she battles to survive.
As previously revealed, Silent Hill f is very much intended for mature audiences, as the game include depictions of extreme violence as well as bullying, gender discrimination and child abuse.
Silent Hill f is slated for release on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on September 25, 2025.
