Konami has announced that Silent Hill Townfall will launch on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S in 2026. The news dropped during Sony’s State of Play broadcast today, after which Konami will also be hosting a special Silent Hill Transmission event to further detail the upcoming horror title.
Silent Hill Townfall is being developed by Screen Burn Interactive (previously known as No Code) and was originally announced during the first Silent Hill Transmission event in October 2022. Konami used this event to announce its plans to resurrect the psychological horror franchise after a decade, revealing other projects such as the now-released Silent Hill 2 Remake and Silent Hill f.
Silent Hill Townfall continues the tradition set down by Silent Hill f – in that it transposes the Silent Hill story away from the titular town and instead conjures up new terrors elsewhere in the world – this time in a British village called St. Ameila. Where Silent Hill Townfall also differs from other games in the series though, is in how it embraces a more intimate first-person perspective, rather than franchises’ typical third-person perspective.
You can catch the new trailer for Silent Hill Townfall below:
Konami launched the Silent Hill franchise in 1999 for the PlayStation, which was developed by Team Silent. Silent Hill 2 (2001), Silent Hill 3 (2003), and Silent Hill 4: The Room (2004) followed for the PS2, after which the studio disbanded. The franchise was then handed to numerous western developers who worked on the likes of 2008’s Silent Hill Homecoming and 2012’s Silent Hill Downpour.
Bloober Team is currently developing a remake of the original Silent Hill, although a release date for that project has yet to be announced.
