Silent Hill Townfall Update 1.4.0 Brings Key Changes To The Weight, Including Improved AI & Removing Instant Death Grab Attack – Full Patch Notes Listed

Screen Burn Interactive has released Silent Hill Townfall update 1.4.0 for players to download, which comes with major changes to The Weight enemy, which had been causing players more than a few headaches. Among the key changes made include improvements to AI, which results in its behaviour changing so that it no longer ‘camps’ in front of the player’s objective for lengthy periods, as well as the removal of the instant death grab attack for Story Mode and Normal difficulti settings. Other changes include reducing enemy sensitivity to the sound of firearms and of the player running, full details of which can be seen in the patch notes below.

Silent Hill Townfall was released for PS5 and PC on September 24, 2026. Be sure to have a gander at our full review here. The game takes place in 1996 in the fictional Scottish town of St. Amelia, and follows Simon Ordell, who wakes up at the docks with no memory of how or why he is there. He soon discovers the town is shrouded in fog and populated by grotesque creatures, and must get to the bottom of what’s happened in St. Amelia while using a CRTV handheld device to aid him in solving puzzles and tracking foes.
