Screen Burn Interactive has released a new Silent Hill Townfall update on PS5 and PC, which includes a new Hard difficulty mode. This offers a rebalance of gameplay elements across all difficulty modes to account for the added Hard mode, offering a ‘smoother difficulty curve’ for players. Among the changes include enemy hearing sensitivity now increasing with the difficulty level, and the severity of the The Weight’s attacks now being limited to Story Mode. You can read the full details in the Silent Hill Townfall update 1.6.0 patch notes below.
Silent Hill Townfall was released for PS5 and PC in September 2026 and takes place in 1996 in the fictional Scottish town of St. Amelia, where protagonist Simon Cordell wakes up with no memory of how or why he’s there. The game is set from a first-person viewpoint and introduces a handheld CRTV device that players can use to detect enemies and aid in puzzle solving, while retaining the creepy atmosphere and fog-drenched locations the series is known for.
