Konami News PS5 Silent Hill Trademark

Silent Hill Trademark Updated By Konami, But Will We Actually See A New Game Anytime Soon?

Konami has renewed a series of trademarks for some of its IPs including the long-dormant Silent Hill franchise, although this is nothing really new as companies frequently do this sort of thing.

However, Silent Hill has been heavily rumored for some time now to be making a comeback, so there’s still every chance that a renewed trademark could lead to something actually happening with the much-loved psychological horror franchise.

DuskGolem, a popular Resident Evil tipster with a decent track record, maintains that a new Silent Hill game has been in the works for some time, although nothing has ever been announced. More recently, Konami is reportedly working on multiple entries in the series.

Beyond that, Gematsu’s sources have claimed that Kojima Productions is working on a Silent Hill game, which is interesting as Hideo Kojima was at one point working on such a title back when he was at Konami.

Silent Hill was originally released for the PSOne back in 1999, and the last main entry in the franchise arrived ten years ago for PS3 and Xbox 360 in the shape of Silent Hill: Downpour.
