Silent Hills demo downloaded over 1 million times

Sony has announced (via IGN) that the playable teaser for Konami’s upcoming Silent Hills has been downloaded over one million times since its launch in mid-August.

Known as “P.T.,” the demo offers a horrifying glimpse at the upcoming survival horror title, which is being masterminded by Metal Gear creator, Hideo Kojima.

The game itself will star Norman Reedus and also features input from famed Hollywood director, Guillermo Del Toro.

Sony unveiled P.T. during its Gamescom press conference before launching it for download via the PlayStation Store the same day. Needless to say, it’s already proven a considerable hit with gamers, and has garnered a reputation for some genuinely pant-soiling moments.

Silent Hills is in development for PlayStation 4 and is unlikely to hit stores until 2016. Kojima-san has teased that the game will focus on ‘pure horror,’ and wants players to ‘sh!t their pants.’ We think P.T. already has that covered.
