Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima has fueled hope that he may yet team up with actor Norman Reedus in the future, following the pair’s previous collaboration on the failed Silent Hills project.
Kojima-san took to Twitter earlier this week to post a snapshot of him and the actor, best known for his portrayal of the crossbow-wielding Daryl Dixon on The Walking Dead, having a chat about the former’s newly-formed studio, Kojima Productions.
Silent Hills was set to reboot Konami’s long-running psychological horror franchise, with Reedus taking on the starring role. In addition to Kojima-san’s involvement, the project also featured Hollywood film director Guillermo Del Toro, who has on more than several occasions lamented the game’s cancellation.
Of course, while Konami still owns the rights to Silent Hill, there’s nothing stopping Kojima-san and Reedus (as well as Del Toro, for that matter) from teaming up again on a future project. It also recently emerged that former Epic Games designer, Cliff Bleszinski, was approached by Kojima-san to work on the game.
As for Silent Hill, the future of the series currently remains in limbo, although Konami has indicated it plans to develop more entries in the franchise. Nothing has been announced since it canned Silent Hill, however.
