Media Molecule studio director Siobhan Reddy will be awarded the prestigious BAFTA Fellowship during this year’s BAFTA Gaming Awards, the organisation announced today.
Reddy will join a number of iconic video game developers who have received the award, including Hideo Kojima, Shigeru Miyamoto, John Carmack, Gabe Newell and many more. Reddy is to receive the accolade for her “creative contribution to the industry” in addition to her “pioneering work on advocacy for diversity, inclusion and creative and collaborative working culture.”
Reddy has been with the LittleBigPlanet developer for 15 years now, and ascended to the role of studio director after just a few years.
Speaking on her BAFTA Fellowship nod, Reddy commented she’s “incredibly honoured and moved” and that it “provides further motivation” for her and others to fly the flag for “inclusivity, diversity and building a work culture that celebrates creativity.”
