Skull And Bones hasn’t even been out for three weeks yet, and already Ubisoft‘s swashbuckling pirate romp has seen a significant price cut at retailers.
While Skull and Bones is a premium-priced game at $69.99, US retail giant Best Buy is offering the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game for $44.99, while UK outfit Hit is pricing the game at £49.85. Ubisoft previously defended Skull and Bones’ price tag, describing it as an ‘AAAA’ title deserving of costing $70.
Skull and Bones hasn’t enjoyed smooth sailing since its launch, attracting fewer than one million players (including free trial users) just over a week after launch. Furthermore, PS5-exclusive title Helldivers 2 reportedly sold more than double than what Skull and Bones achieved in its launch week in Europe.
