The Physical Edition Skydance’s Giant PS VR2 Title Behemoth Will Arrive Next Year Following December Launch

Developer Skydance Games’ upcoming PlayStation VR2 title Behemoth is going to be getting a physical edition, but it won’t arrive until February 6, 2025, following the game’s digital launch on PS VR2 and other current-gen VR headsets on December 5, 2024.

Originally, the game was set to have actually been out by now, with its previous release date set for today in fact, November 14, 2024. But those plans changed back in September, pushing the launch just a few weeks to give the team a bit of extra time.

Even though everyone will be waiting just a little longer to get their hands on the giant terrors you face in Behemoth – collectors and day 1-er’s alike – the latest trailer really showcases the cinematic action-adventure that awaits players this December.

It also showcases another new giant terror to take down, a giant bat called Nightscraper.

PS VR2 owners might be really feeling the lack of first-party support, but at the very least there are significantly better third-party options coming to the headset of late.

Metro: Awakening is easily one of the best horror games this year, and one of the best games to play on PS VR2 bar-none, and now Skydance’s Behemoth looks like it could join the list of top-PS VR2 games from a different angle.

In Metro: Awakening, you’re nowhere near the most powerful person in the room, and the narrative can be deeply emotional. Skydance’s Behemoth looks like it’s just trying to be the most epic power-fantasy in VR, complete with punching heads clean off, a grapple hook, and the ability to take down beasts bigger than skyscrapers.

At least that’s the message the trailers get across. Hopefully it plays that way.
