The following may just be the best news of the day, depending on if you are a geek like us and love Battlestar Galactica and SOCOM. Zipper Interactive has revealed that Bear McCreary, best known for his critically-acclaimed work on Battlestar Galactica, will score SOCOM 4.
McCreary has a definite sound that works perfectly for the Southeast Asia setting of SOCOM 4. He will, apparently, use ethnic soloists and gamelan ensembles to create the score to the game.
This isn’t McCreary’s first run at a videogame soundtrack. He scored Capcom’s Dark Void, which for anyone who has played the game, will likely agree the music certainly helped to establish that mysterious atmosphere.
