SEGA has released the Sonic Mania launch trailer to celebrate the release of the Blue Blur’s 90s-flavored platforming outing.
The game hits stores today for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, with a PC release following in a few weeks.
Sonic Mania is an authentic trip back to the glory days of 90s retro gaming, with the game sporting a 16-bit aesthetic that recalls the classic SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis entries in the venerable franchise.
The game features a mixture of classic Sonic stages such as Green Hill and Chemical Plant zone alongside brand new levels, plus a nod to both Sonic CD and Sonic 3 in the Bonus and Special Stages.
If that wasn’t enough, Sonia Mania also features a split-screen multiplayer mode that recalls Sonic 2’s competitive racing antics.
The game is one of two titles developed to coincide with Sonic’s 25th anniversary, the other being Sonic Forces.
