Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that it is bumping up the cost of PS Plus subscription tiers for a second time in Canada.
The format holder has started sending out emails to users in Canada confirming that prices will be increased for 12-month memberships from June 24, 2025. With that in mind, PS Plus Essential will be increased by $15, rising from $94.99 to $109.99.
PS Plus Extra will see an increase of $35 for a year’s membership, going from $154.99 to $189.99, while a 12-month membership to PS Plus Premium will also see a price hike of $35 to $224.99. Sony’s email reads, “This price adjustment will enable us to continue bringing high-quality games and benefits to your PlayStation Plus subscription service.”

Earlier this week Sony announced it will be increasing the price of the standard PS5 console in select regions due to ‘challenging economic environment.’ As such, the PS5 Digital Edition is seeing a price bump in the UK and Europe, while the PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc drive is increasing in price for Australian and New Zealand. PS Plus was introduced back in 2010 during the PS3 era and has since evolved into three tiers. PS Plus Essential offers the standard free games each month (PS4 games are slowly being phased out, leaving PS5 titles as your monthly freebies), while PS Plus Extra offers this and a selection of other PS5 & PS4 games. Finally, PS Plus Premium packages the previous offerings alongside a host of retro titles spanning PS3, PS2, PS1 & PSP formats.
