Sony Bend Studio Has Reportedly Cut An Unknown Number Of Contractors Following The Cancellation Of Its Live-Service Game

A new report from Game Developer points to Sony Bend Studio cutting ties with an unknown number of contract developers, following the cancellation of the unannounced live-service game it was working on.

Two weeks prior at time of writing, it was revealed that Sony Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games had their projects cancelled, both of those projects being unannounced live-service titles the teams had been working on for the last few years.

According to the report these contractors were level and system designers, and that while most of the developers cut were released from their contracts early, a small number of people were hired on full-time.

PlayStation players have long been wondering what Bend Studio has been working on in recent years. Now we know that it was a live service game, reportedly set in the God Of War universe. We also know that Bend Studio is going back to the drawing board, once again, for its next project.

Whatever the case may be with Bend’s next project, community manager Kevin McAllister confirmed for players that studio’s plans haven’t changed, and that they “still plan on creating cool s***.”
