Sony have kicked off 2016 by releasing a video of twenty games due out on PlayStation 4 this year that are either exclusive to the console or out first on it. It seems fair to say it’s a strong showcase of the year ahead, with blockbuster titles such as Uncharted 4 and Horizon: Zero Dawn leading the charge.
2015 saw much in the way of grumbling about a lack of exclusives for the PlayStation 4, even though the likes of Bloodborne and Until Dawn were fondly received. That didn’t stop the console selling ridiculous amounts, but that doesn’t mean Sony should rest on their laurels in 2016. Thankfully, it looks like this year is going to be huge for PS4 in software terms if this video is anything to go by.
Games exclusive to PS4 in 2016 include the aforementioned Uncharted 4 and Horizon, as well as Ratchet and Clank, No Man’s Sky, Street Fighter V, Gravity Rush 2 and the almost mythical The Last Guardian. The chances of anyone seeing that particular game in 2016 remain as much a mystery now as it has in every previous year it was expected. Still, you got to have some faith, right?
Sony also reminded us that it will continue to support a healthy selection of indie titles for PS4 in 2016, such as Jonathan Blow’s The Witness, Harmonix’s Amplitude and David Jaffe’s Drawn to Death.
Throw third-party, multi-format titles like Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Hitman, Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dark Souls III into the mix and we could see a great year for games in general.
