Sony files Days Gone trademark, fuels speculation of major new PS4 IP

Spotted by DualShockers, Sony Computer Entertainment America has filed a trademark for the name ‘Days Gone’ with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

The filing is listed under the category of video game software, and online game software, suggesting that the game will feature multiplayer content.

No further details have been confirmed, but the listing has fuelled speculation that Days Gone could be the secretive game currently in development by Sony Bend Studios, who have yet to announce their current PlayStation 4 project. Last year, Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios (SCE WWS), said that Sony Bend’s upcoming title will be the company’s biggest game ever.

Other rumours point towards Sony subsidiary, Sucker Punch Productions, whose last title was 2014’s InFAMOUS: First Light, and Sony Santa Monica who are said to have two PS4 games in the works for 2016.

What do you reckon? Days Gone sounds a little post-apocalyptic, don’t you think?
