Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet sounds like someone doing an alternative title challenge for the Dune franchise, and while it could be that, it’s also the latest trademark Sony Interactive Entertainment filed for in the United States.
Spotted by Gematsu, the trademark could be a project or game title, perhaps even one that’s a working title, with the trademark being more of a ‘just incase’ filing.
At the very least we can grasp that the title does imply some sort of science-fiction focus, and The Heretic Prophet subheading does also seem to imply some sort of narrative focus.
It’s a specific reference to presumably an individual, and it would be reasonable to assume that the individual is involved in a greater story, potentially one where you are the ‘heretic prophet.’
Or it could just be a huge multiplayer game where you play as a generic hero with powers to fight this Heretic Prophet on an intergalactic scale. The first title of Intergalactic could even be a hint towards an anthology series of expansions.
Or they could be narratives similar to the Dark Pictures series, which means it will be a narrative title. All of this is just speculation of course, but it’s worth noting there are more than a few PlayStation Studios titles we know almost nothing about.
It’s possible this is any one of those, whatever it ends up being.
