Dark Outlaw Games, the studio founded in March 2025 by Jason Blundell, is reportedly being shut down by Sony Interactive Entertainment, according to Jason Schreier.
Prior to Bloomberg’s report, J-Soul on ResetEra stated that Dark Outlaw Games was in the early stages of developing its first project, although it’s unclear how many people are affected as a result of the studio’s closure. Blundell hasn’t had the best of luck the last few years, as his previous outfit, Deviation Games, was shut down in March 2024 — although Blundell himself had departed the studio two years prior.
Beyond that, it has also been reported that there have been an unspecified number of job losses in the US and UK within the PlayStation umbrella, a number said to be “small.”
Sony has been making a number cuts as of late, confirming earlier this year that it was shuttering Bluepoint Games, the studio responsible for a number of successful remakes including Demon’s Souls and Shadow of the Colossus.
