Jeff Grubb has revealed on yesterday’s Game Mess Mornings podcast that he’s heard whispers that Sony is planning to host another State of Play (or possibly a PlayStation Showcase) at the end of September.
“I am comfortable saying that Sony is planning a State of Play or maybe a PlayStation Showcase around the end of September,” said Grubb.

While Sony hasn’t announced anything about its plans for a new State of Play yet, the format holder has traditionally hosted one of these events every September, so it’s likely we’ll get something. Last year for example, Sony announced Ghost of Yotei during its September 2024 State of Play event, so hopefully we’ll get something equally as big at this year’s event.
Marvel’s Wolverine hasn’t been seen since its official reveal four years ago, so that’s long overdue for a fresh look, and there’s still rumours about a God of War spin-off being in the works, so perhaps that could be in store for an official reveal? We’ll just have to wait and see
