Sony Reportedly Expects To Ship Over 10 Million PS5s In Q3 FY23

Sony Interactive Entertainment is expecting PS5 shipments of over 10 million units during the third quarter of it FY23 (Holiday 2023), according to sources close to Insider Gaming.

The console manufacturer announced lats week during its latest earnings call that it has shipped 32 million PS5s worldwide since its launch in November 2020. A total of 7.1 million consoles were moved during the three-month period ended December 31, 2022, marking the PS5’s biggest quarter to date.

However, Sony is expecting its lowest month to be August 2023 with 1.5 million units sold, with just south of 4.8 million PS5s expected to be move during November 2023. The report on Insider Gaming claims that 10.5 million PS5s are expected to be sold across October, November and December of this year.

It’s worth noting that the higher sales figure expected of PS5 is due to the release of the long-rumored new model, which is expected to go on sale in September 2023. However, it is widely believed the new PS5 won’t be a Pro or Slim model, but will feature a detachable disc drive.
